This Issue: Mountain Forest Growth Models and Some Other Good Things
BUT FIRST, WON’T YOU PLEASE HELP?  Carbon Mapping and Allometric Equations for Selected Tree Species. Yogendra Kumar Karna writes, “I am doing my MSc research in Carbon mapping for tropical forests in Chitwan districts of Nepal. So I am desperately searching for allometric equations of some of the major forest tree species of Nepal. These tree species are as following: Asna/Saj - Terminalia tomentosa, Bhalayo - Semecarpus anacardium, Botdhangeo - Lagerstroemia parviflora, Sal - Shorea robusta, Chilaune - Schima wallichii, and Sindure - Mallotus philippensis. If someone will provide me these equations, I would be very grateful to them. Thanking you”. If you can assist, please contact Yongendra at yogendra.karna@yahoo.com.
MOUNTAIN FOREST GROWTH MODELS. In September, Shiva Pandey wrote, “I am PhD student at USQ, Australia. For my PhD research I am requesting you some information about growth model of mountain forests (stand level) to predict forest stock and time span to reach at the equilibrium stage in natural growth. Please forward me information about mountain tropical, sub tropical, lower temperate mix vegetation types that should fit to Nepal and north Indian forests. Please kindly inform me if you have specific literatures, equations etc.” Here are some sites that may be of interest. If you know of others, please contact Shiva at shivaspandey@yahoo.com
