Subject: The GCF Task Force is Hiring a Project Director

Dear Colleagues,

 

The Governor's Climate and Forests Task Force (GCF) is hiring a full-time Project Director to be based at the GCF Secretariat at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colorado.  Click on the following link for details and to apply https://www.jobsatcu.com/postings/91006.  The application deadline is November 21.

 

The GCF is a unique collaboration among 26 states and provinces from Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, Spain, and the United States that seeks to advance jurisdiction-wide approaches to forest protection and low emissions development. One-fourth of the world's tropical forests are in GCF states and provinces, including more than three-fourths of Brazil's and Peru's and more than half of Indonesia's (see www.gcftaskforce.org for more information).

 

The Project Director is expected to:
• Be a leading voice on low emissions development, land use, and tropical forest conservation
• Build partnerships with civil society organizations, governments, indigenous peoples organizations, and the private sector
• Produce policy reports/briefs, communications materials, correspondence, and presentations in support of the GCF's objectives
• Travel domestically and internationally to run and/or participate in workshops, meetings, and general outreach to GCF member states and provinces
• Improve GCF's capacity-building and visibility tools (i.e. website, Knowledge Database, Network)
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies (including submission of grant proposals and coordination with the GCF Fund)
• Ensure grant requirements are met
• Manage domestic and international consultants
• Handle miscellaneous administrative matters/logistics as needed
